ABOUT JOJO

JoJo Kali is a Greek Cypriot rock vocalist, songwriter, and musical theatre performer based in the Netherlands. Drawn to powerful voices, dark storytelling, and emotionally charged performance, her work moves between the raw energy of rock and the drama of musical theatre.
Born in Nicosia, Cyprus, JoJo developed an early connection to music and later studied Jazz and Pop Vocal Performance at ArtEZ Conservatory in the Netherlands, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in 2024. Her influences range from Iron Maiden to Amy Winehouse, and Andrew Lloyd Webber to Stephen Sondheim, shaping a style that combines powerhouse vocals, emotional honesty, and theatrical intensity.
JoJo is the vocalist and songwriter of the rock/stoner band Hey Jo, where heavy riffs meet blues influences, personal storytelling, and a touch of theatrical chaos. She is also developing her own original music and has written and composed Victoria, an original horror/drama musical inspired by the dark worlds of Sweeney Todd and The Phantom of the Opera.
Alongside her work as a performer and songwriter, JoJo teaches vocals and continues to develop across rock, musical theatre and live performance.
At the heart of her work is a love for transformation, taking emotion, vulnerability and intensity and turning them into something that can be felt on stage.
